September 30

We started off the day by jumping right into our science unit. We are studying plants, so we went over and took observations of the seeds that we planted last Friday. We then did an art lesson with it by having each student draw a picture of what they think their plant will look like on Thursday and next Tuesday. After science and art we worked on math. I had set up a game to play where they had to roll the dice and add the seeds to get a certain number. Later on I had the students do daily five to practice reading and their spelling words. After that we read a story on the smartboard about plants and the students had questions to answer after. We had a very busy day today with our plant unit and it seems to me that the students are learning so much from the hands on activities that I have planned.
